The Proclamation Of 1763

ABOUT THE Proclamation
The French and Indian War had some very positive affects and some negative ones. A positive affect is that the war decided who would control North America. There were a total of three teams fighting, The French, The British, and The Native Americans. In the end the British won the war and declared the land was THEIRS. However, there was a issue. the colonist had already resided in NorthEast America. The British allowed the COLONISts to stay, but there was more to it.
Effects On colonists
The British had allowed the colonists to stay, however they couldn't move past the Appalachian MOUNTAINS. There were many reasons the British enabled the colonists ability to move westward. One reason the British did this was because the colonists would use some of the natural resources the BRITISH could be using. ANOTHER reason was because the British did not want the colonists using up their territory. SOme colonists IGNORED the proclamation because they were searching for good farmland, and some IGNORED the Proclamation all together and continued moving westward. The strick rules that were put on the colonists made them even more frustrated with the British.
Effects On Native Americans
the Proclamation also effected the Native Americans. The Native Americans helped the British win the French And Indian War. However, the British were placing very strict rules on the Native Americans. Such as the NAtive AMericans and colonists were not allowed to trade or interact. THe nAtive Americans decided to fight back. they were led by Pontiac. Under his leadership, Pontiac along with his warriors invaded a British fort near the Ecorse River(this river was located around Detroit). However, that plan backfired when a British Major found out about the plan and were able to prepare themselves for the attack. A few months later the British wanted to get revenge on the Pontiac and his warriors. They decided to attack one of Pontiac's NAtive Americans camps. The attack turned into the Battle Of Bloody Run. Overall, the British lost that battle.
Start Of The American REVOluTION
One major affect of the French and Indian War was that BRITiAN had a ton of debt. To try and pay that debt off they started taxing the colonists. To say the least the colonists were not very happy about this. they became very angery at the British. The Proclamation created tension between the British monarchy and the New England colonists, which led to the AMerican REVOLUTION.
